identity collageI was very skeptical about this piece at first, I was scared that it wouldn’t look very put together. It was a little hard for me to get motivated but after I saw it coming together I was excited to see how it would look in the end.
The first thing I did was look for big sections of skin in people magazine and life magazine, after I found pieces of skin I liked I cut them into smaller pieces, then started on my face. I started with my face because I figured that the skin would be the most difficult. I layed out my skin then layered my features on top like hair, eyes, lips, and eyebrows. Sometimes I would get too much glue on a piece of paper and it would become wrinkled, so when that would happen I would take a piece of paper towel and smooth the piece out and wipe the excess glue off. If you notice my whole background is made up of fruit, this is because fruit is my favorite food I could eat fruit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you look closely at my hair you’ll notice that it’s kind of all sort of textures like curly, straight, and some wavy. I tried to make it go all the same way but in some places, it goes sideways but I think it blends quite well. |
