Real Anatomy of TechnologyWhen this project was introduced I already kind of had a design in my mind, but after I looked through some examples I changed my mind. There have been a few setbacks while working. Another thing we did when this project was introduced we answered some questions and we had to do an interview, and one question was about how my life differed from my grandparents. One thing I never thought about was the radio, they had them in their houses and they had them in their cars but they didn't do all the things that they do now, my radio can hookup to my cell phone and play CD's my grandma's radio may only played the local stations. Nowadays I don't think I or many kids my age could imagine a world without music. My steps in this project were kind of similar to the last one except for a few things. The first thing I did was sketch out my idea, but I realized that idea wouldn't work how I wanted it to work. Then I figure this idea and sketched it again and knew I need to make a few different things on the final product, after figuring the layout I started with the radio. Drawing the buttons and the dials, next I drew the brain, which I changed 4 times and added extra detail on it. Then I finally started to color, again I started with the radio. Then I did some research on how the cerebellum and spinal cord should be colored. then I needed to do the background, I tried to do the gradient and on the right side it worked well in my opinion but on the right side I could've done better but I just couldn't get it to look the way I wanted it to. I also chose blue because I thought it would make the brain pop more. One difficulty I had in the beginning, was working from home, I didn't have every color I would've liked but I managed. I also came into the problem of not enough room even sitting at my desk. Another set back was the brain, I had to redraw it four times. We had to send in progress photo and our teacher gave us feedback, that helped because my first brain was clean-cut straight lines. So I needed to figure out how to make it more realistic. From my original sketch, I changed a few things, as I already mentioned was the brain from a nice clean cut, straight-lined brain to a squiggling and sponging brain. I also added the cerebellum and the spinal cord, I also redrew the aux cord. |
